Stated purpose
"Every member of our Church has come with a calling. To bring love and faith, to heal and to listen, to find meaning in the world and to help discover and use our gifts to the glory of God. Our calling is your calling. We are one with the Lord." (from website homepage)

Our mission continues to be the same: "to reach El Pasoans and the world who know little or nothing of the full gospel message and to bring them into the full life of the Spirit, through contemporary preachings, credible demonstrations of the gifts and uplifting praise music". A church of both the walker and the skateboard, Word of life is a place for everyone. Dedicated as a Mission Cathedral on Christmas Eve 2012, Word of Life has become the diocese (district) to 100 churches around the world. (From Facebook)

Research note
Seems to be open to outsiders
"The Bible, along with science, affirms an expanding universe, thus logically a Creator: "This is what God the Lord says — he who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it, (Isa 42:5)." -- Science and religion may coexist

Perceived enemies
Honestly, not many people. There seems to be a sense of potential salvation for nearly everybody; they are against specific sins but not the people themselves.

Outsider views of the group
Could not find much about this beyond the typical "society is out of touch with what the Bible teaches" rhetoric.

Tom Brown Ministries was recently labeled a “hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center -- may fuel sense of persecution. Some congregants have left the church as a result of his rhetoric and Brown feels unfairly painted as a "hater." (Source)

Brown was involved in a years-long legal battle and investigation in El Paso for illegal partisan politicking and violating Texas PAC registration laws, which he saw as an infringement on the his (and the church's) right to free speech (Source).
Dehumanizing speech by group
"There were many in the Corinthian church that used to be homosexual offenders, but through the power of the gospel they changed. In my churches, I, too, know those who used to be homosexuals, but the Lord changed them, and I know that He can change you too." (In other words, gay people can change and be saved) Source

"God did not cause your lung to collapse, your smoking did. You reaped what you sowed. The fact that God warned you to stop smoking shows that God was trying to protect your from becoming sick." Source

"Consider the high suicide rate among the trans community. Tragically, 41% of transgender people have attempted suicide, and it is not because of societal rejection, but, rather, their own inner demons, psychological illness and confused identity." Source
